On February 13, 2024, Dr. Elvin Abbasbeyli, a faculty member of the English Language and Literature Department and coordinator of Khazar University's "Translation and Interpreting Center," presented a report titled "Interpreting: Past, Present, and Future" at the scientific-practical conference titled "Cross-Linguistic and Cultural Sustainability: Challenges and New Avenues," held at Mamun University in Urgench.
During the conference, researchers from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and the United States presented made reports on their respective research areas.
The day before the conference, Mamun University Rector Arslonbek Nurjonov and Vice-Rector of International Relations Bahrom Yuldashev met with Elvin Abbasbeyli, coordinator of the "Translation and Interpreting Center," to discuss the potential organization of future master classes for students from Mamun University's Translation Faculty in the field of oral translation.
