On June 12, 2025, Khazar University officially launched a new seminar series titled "From Natural Intelligence to Artificial Intelligence" under the initiative and leadership of the university's founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli. This scientific initiative aims to explore the growing impact of artificial intelligence on society and technology in the modern era and to promote knowledge exchange in this field.
In his opening speech at the seminar, H. Isakhanli discussed the important role artificial intelligence plays today in science and technology. He stated that artificial intelligence is no longer limited to technological fields but is penetrating all scientific disciplines and causing significant innovations in these areas. H. Isakhanli noted that through these seminars, students and scientists are provided with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of these technologies more deeply.
At the first event of the seminar series, staff members from Khazar University's Physics and Electronics Department – Ahmed Asimov and Mohammed Alizade – presented on the topic "Physical Foundations of Computer Sciences."
In his presentation, A. Asimov emphasized the crucial role of physics in the development of computer technologies. He discussed the history and evolution of semiconductor technologies, their application areas in computer chips, and how these technologies played an important foundational role in the formation of artificial intelligence. He also touched upon how quantum technologies and nanoelectronics will create new opportunities for artificial intelligence in the future.
M. Alizade provided detailed information about the fundamental concepts of electrical and electronics fields, the principles of microchips and microcontrollers. He shared his thoughts on the new development stages resulting from the integration of these technologies with computer sciences and the impact of artificial intelligence on these processes. Alizade also explained the topic with practical examples and answered questions from the audience.
The seminar continued in a discussion format. Participants actively participated in a question-and-answer session around the topic, and an exchange of ideas took place.
At the end of the event, H. Isakhanli announced that the seminar series would continue and that renowned scientists and specialists from various fields would also participate in upcoming meetings. These seminars are an indicator of Khazar University's commitment to scientific and technological innovations and its goal of promoting scientific research through a multidisciplinary approach.
