On May 26, 2025, the World Day for Cultural Diversity was celebrated at Khazar University with the organization of the International Relations Department and participation of international students. Representatives from embassies of various countries in Azerbaijan also participated in the event.
It should be noted that the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development has been observed annually on May 21 since 2003, based on UNESCO's Declaration on Cultural Diversity adopted in 2001.
For information, Khazar University currently hosts international students from over 60 countries worldwide.
Fatima Valiyeva, Director of Khazar University's International Relations Department, opened the event and wished success to the participants.
Students from various countries presented their countries' cultures through music, dance, exhibitions, and cuisine.
One of the main highlights of the event was the national costume presentation. Students from Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, China, Ethiopia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Pakistan, Sudan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey took the stage with their countries' flags and displayed their national costumes. Subsequently, Azerbaijan's "Kharibulbul," Pakistan's "Zindabad" and "Dil Dil Pakistan" were performed with musical dance accompaniment. Each country reflected its culture through stands.
Activities such as henna and face painting attracted participants' interest. A colorful flash mob with student participation, ESN (Erasmus Student Network) presentation, and a brief competition were organized. Winners were presented with gifts.
