On September 30, 2023, the Azerbaijan Meeting of International Turkish Alumni was held in Baku under the organization of Turks Abroad and Related Communities from Türkiye, Türkiye Alumni Intellectuals and Businessmen Platform from Azerbaijan.

The meeting held for the first time in Azerbaijan, was attended by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Head of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities Abdullah Eren, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora Fuad Muradov, Deputy Prime Minister of TRNC Fikri Ataoghlu, President of the Turkish Space Agency Serdar Huseyin Yildirim, Ambassador of Türkiye in Baku Cahit Bagci, MPs of Azerbaijan and representatives of alumni associations from 21 different countries of the world.

Assoc. Prof. Elza Samadova, dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, spoke as a panelist at the event where current global issues and the geopolitical importance of Azerbaijan were discussed.
