On April 20-21, international symposium on “Global Education”, dedicated to Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli’s, the founder of Khazar University, and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, anniversary was held at Khazar University.
Scientists and experts from Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, Baku Slavic University, Baku Engineering University, Ganja State University, secondary school number 7 of Mingachevir city and secondary school number 126 of Baku city) as well as Turkey (Çankaya University, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Gazi University, "Khan Academy"), Hungary (Debrecen University), Finland (İyvaskyla University), Albania (New York University of Tirana) and Austria (Vienna University of Applied Sciences) participated in the symposium.
Before the opening of the conference, Khazar University Camera Orchestra performed a short program of pieces of music.
Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University, and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, opened the conference and greeted the participants. Moreover, he stressed the importance of the conference and wished conference success.
Prof. Fatos Tarifa, Rector of the University of New York Tirana (Albania), and Prof. Buket Akkoyunlu from Çankaya University (Turkey), delivered speeches expressing their delight for the organization of the conference at Khazar University, Baku.
Symposium took place in eight workshops. More than 40 reports were delivered at workshops which were followed by discussions and questions. Moderators of plenary sessions were Prof. Zahid Mammadov, Natiq Hajiyev from UNEC, Bilal Hasanov, Oktay Alkhasov from ASUP, Lyudmila Sotova, Malak Karimova From Khazar University and Peter Forisek from Debrecen University. On April 21, at the closing ceremony, Ayhan Aydin (Eskişehir Osmangazi University), Bilal Hasanov and Malahat Abdullayeva (Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University), Ulkar Bayramova and Melek Karimova (Khazar University) and Peter Forishek (Debrecen University) delivered reports on workshops mentioning the quality of reports and active engagement of participants.
In the closing ceremony, Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice-rector for Education of Khazar University, delivered a final speech and expressed his gratitude for the organization of the symposium.
Prof. Fatos Tarifa, Rector of the University of New York Tirana, also expressed his special thanks for the symposium.
Symposium participants were presented with certificates. Foreign participants went on an excursion around Baku city.
