On December 2, 2024, an educational training on dyslexia was held at Khazar University, organized by Malak Karimova, coordinator of the Psychology Department, in collaboration with Anara Guliyeva, head of the "Psychoclinic" center and a Khazar University graduate. The primary goal of the training was to educate educators, psychologists, and defectologists working with children experiencing learning difficulties and to learn new training methods in this field.
During the training, child psychologist Anara Guliyeva explained the benefits of applying play therapy in dyslexia treatment and how correct methods work. She emphasized that play therapy not only helps children gain confidence in the educational process but also makes treatment more enjoyable and effective.
Psychologist Malak Karimova spoke about the relationship difficulties in families with dyslexic children and the mistakes teachers make when approaching these children. According to her, misconceptions and stereotypes about dyslexia can limit children's development. Teachers and parents should approach such children with empathy, providing them with special support and understanding.
Pedagogues, psychologists, and defectologists from Baku and the regions actively participated in the training, asking numerous questions and engaging in discussions.
