International Conference in Partnership with Khazar University: "Legacy Beyond Time - The Silk Road"

On October 22, 2024, an international exhibition-conference titled "Legacy Beyond Time - The Silk Road," jointly organized by Khazar University and Turkey's Human and Culture Movement, began at the Baku Museum Center with the participation of scholars and artists from the Turkic world. Opening speeches were delivered by Prof. Academician Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Associate Professor Dr. Cahit Bagci, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Maryam Guney, leader of the Human and Culture Movement.

Prof. Academician Hamlet Isakhanli discussed the importance of these series of exhibition-conferences held in many countries, particularly emphasizing the unifying nature of art and science, and provided interesting information to conference participants about the development of Silk Road culture in the XII-XIII centuries.

After the exhibition opening, during the panel session of the conference, Associate Professor Telman Nusretoglu, head of the History and Archaeology Department at Khazar University, delivered a comprehensive presentation on "Silk Road, Climate Crises, and Security."

It should be noted that the exhibition-conference series, held under the patronage of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) and the Turkish Ministry of Culture, covers countries along the Silk Road route and features works by 41 artists from China, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, and Iran. The exhibition includes specially prepared calligraphy, illumination, miniature, paper marbling, pen work (graphic line), woodcarving, nacre inlay, ceramics, jewelry, and other works. Presentations from 41 scholars examining the Silk Road's history, directions, important centers, science and art, language and literature, architecture, and trade will also be heard.

Khazar University has been chosen as the partner for this international project in Azerbaijan. National websites have published news about the event.
