The next meeting of the Scientific Council of Khazar University was held on October 11, 2024. The meeting was opened by Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, Rector of Khazar University and Chairperson of the Scientific Council, who brought the agenda items to the attention of Scientific Council members.

The Chairperson provided information about the first agenda item regarding the new composition of Khazar University's Scientific Council. She noted that seven new members were added to the Scientific Council based on their positions at Khazar University and faculty nominations. Staff members who have ceased their activities at Khazar University were removed from Scientific Council membership.

For the second agenda item concerning graduates, information was presented by Fakhranda Afandiyeva, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Engineering; Khanim Omaroglu, Acting Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Aygun Verdiyeva, Acting Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; and Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Business. Detailed information about graduating bachelor's and master's students' grades, specializations, etc., was heard and discussed.

For the third agenda item, Rector Irada Khalilova reported on admissions to Khazar University for the 2024-2025 academic year, noting that there was an increase in admissions across all three education levels compared to the previous year.

For the fourth agenda item, Rector Irada Khalilova presented information about the Scientific Council's annual activity plan, bringing planned discussion topics for the 2024-2025 academic year to council members' attention.

Scientific Council Secretary Gunel Bahaddinova provided information about the fifth agenda item regarding changes made to Khazar University's doctoral regulations based on new decisions by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the sixth agenda item concerning changing a dissertation supervisor. The matters were discussed by Scientific Council members and proposals were made.

For the seventh agenda item, Lyudmila Sotova, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, provided detailed information about Khazar University's action plan for 2023/24 - 2027/28 academic years to implement recommendations and instructions indicated in the Accreditation Commission's final report. All information noted in the five-year action plan was discussed by Scientific Council members and the action plan was approved.

For the eighth agenda item, the Chairperson gave the floor to department heads to report on their annual activities. Ali Huseyinli, Head of Mathematics Department; Dilbar Zeynalova, Head of Languages and Literature Department; and Shahla Abbasova, Head of Architecture and Design Department provided detailed information about their departments' activities during the 2023-2024 academic year. The matter was discussed by Scientific Council members and the reports were accepted.

All items on the Scientific Council's agenda were discussed and appropriate decisions were made.
