On September 24-25, 2024, the International ISBN Agency held its annual general meeting in Paris, France, with the participation of representatives from national and regional agencies for ISBN (International Standard Book Number) and ISMN (International Standard Music Number) services.
Sabina Alimardanova, coordinator of the Khazar University National Center for the Republic of Azerbaijan of the International ISBN Agency, participated in the event, which was attended by nearly 100 in-person and about 50 virtual participants invited from all national and regional representations of the agency worldwide.
At the event, Gilles Pecout, President of the National Library of France, Denis Mollat, head of the library's service department, and Beat Barblan, Chairman of the International ISBN Agency, spoke and provided general information about the agency's activities over the past period.
The meeting discussed many important issues related to the ISBN system and publishing work, the French book market, changes made to membership fees for 2025-2026, financial reports, and reports from leading figures. Additionally, some changes and news regarding the activities of the International ISBN Agency were shared.
