On September 16, 2024, Nilufar Akif Demirzadeh, a faculty member of Khazar University's Psychology Department, took part in an international conference at King's College University in England. The conference focused on early intervention and psychological support for individuals dealing with eating disorders like anorexia nervosa and bulimia, along with the implementation of the "FREED" program in this area.
Clinical psychologists and researchers from countries such as Canada, Australia, and the Netherlands shared their experiences and discussed potential problems in the field of eating disorders and their solutions. The event took place with the participation of Prof. Pat McGorry, a globally recognized expert on youth mental health, known for his significant contributions to the early diagnosis and treatment of issues such as eating disorders, psychosis, and schizophrenia, as well as Prof. Ulrike Schmidt, the director of the Eating and Weight Disorders Research Center at King’s College.
