On July 5, 2024, Khazar University's Scientific Council convened for its next meeting. Rector of the university, Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova, opened the session and brought the issues on the agenda to the attention of the Scientific Council members.
Information about the graduates, which is the 1st issue of the agenda, was presented by Fakhranda Alimardanova, dean of the School of Science and Engineering; Jeyhun Mammadov, dean of the School of Economics and Management; Aygun Verdiyeva, deputy dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Saida Sharifova, dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology; and Ingilab Ahmadov, dean of the Graduate School of Economics and Business. Detailed information about undergraduate and graduate students of the university, their grades, specialties et c. was heard and discussions were held.
The secretary of the Scientific Council, Gunel Bahaddinova, provided information about the entrance exam programs for the PhD program, which was the second item on the agenda. She noted that in 2024, entrance exams for the PhD program will be conducted in International Relations, World Economy, Genetics, German Languages, Computer Science, Development and Operation of Oil and Gas Fields, General Pedagogy, History of Pedagogy and Education, as well as General Psychology. Admission programs for each specialty were prepared by the relevant departments and received positive internal and external reviews. The members of the Scientific Council reviewed and approved these programs.
The chairman then called on the department heads to present their annual activity reports, which was the third item on the agenda. Jeyhun Mammadov, Head of the Department of Economics and Management; Milana Abbasova, Head of the Department of English Language and Literature; Farida Tatardar, Head of the Department of Physics and Electronics; Jamala Eldarova, Head of the Department of Life Sciences; and Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Sciences and Philosophy, provided detailed information about their departments' activities during the 2023-2024 academic year. The members of the Scientific Council discussed the reports and approved the reports.
At the end of the meeting, the chairman noted that the annual activity reports of other departments would be presented at the next Scientific Council.
