On June 27, 2024, Khazar University's Department of Law hosted a seminar titled "Can Corruption Bring Happiness - Why Should We Fight Corruption?"
Alimammad Nuriyev, a former member of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis and President of the Constitutional Research Foundation, addressed the seminar, which was attended by university staff. He stated that the Azerbaijani government is actively combating corruption and mentioned that the Anti-Corruption Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, established in 2004, serves as a specialized body for corruption prevention. This commission collaborates with the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, regularly reporting on anti-corruption efforts to the President, the Milli Majlis, and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the same time, various measures are being implemented as per the "2022-2026 National Action Plan on Strengthening the Fight Against Corruption," approved by a Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The speaker also highlighted the importance of public control, citizen involvement, and educational initiatives aimed at the public. Following the report, an extensive discussion and exchange of ideas took place.
In the end, the head of the Law Department, Jabir Khalilov, expressed gratitude to the speaker and participants and stressed the importance of conducting such events on a larger scale in the future.
