On May 1-2, 2024, "GreenTech" Azerbaijan Startup and Green Technologies competition was held under the organization of Innovation Center of Azerbaijan University of Technology. This event aligned with the goals outlined in the "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development" document approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the 2024 "Green Growth" and "For a Green World" initiatives. It was held according to the decree on declaring the Year of Solidarity. The competition aimed to foster the development of an incubation environment for Technological Innovations and Green Technologies in Azerbaijan. The competition was divided into five categories: "Robotics Competition," "Projects Related to Energy Systems Engineering," "CI Competition for Sustainability," "Mechatronics Competition," and "Projects Related to Technologies for the Benefit of Humanity." During the event, teams showcased their ideas in an exhibition format and provided detailed information about their projects to interested attendees. At the conclusion, project assessors evaluated the teams and awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category. Khazar University was represented by Turan Huseynzadeh, Leyla Yusifzadeh, and Javidan Shukurov, 2nd and 3rd year students majoring in chemical engineering in this competition, in which 66 teams participated. They won a prize worth 200 manats. At the end of the event, AzerSun company presented gifts to the contestants.
