I, Arif Rustamov, am currently a second-year master's student pursuing a degree in Oil and Gas Engineering at the School of Science and Engineering at Khazar University.
In the fall semester of the academic year 2023-2024, I participated in an exchange program at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy, specializing in "Georesources and geoenergy engineering," facilitated by the Erasmus+ program.
The educational experience I encountered during my time in Italy left an indelible mark on me. The courses played a pivotal role in broadening my knowledge base. Through engaging with local and international instructors who employed diverse teaching methodologies, I not only gained extensive insights into innovative approaches within the oil and gas sector but also acquired newfound understanding of renewable energy sources. The information gleaned from the lectures I attended regularly proved instrumental in my successful completion of final examinations. Moreover, I firmly believe that the experience and knowledge I acquired will significantly shape my future educational pursuits and career endeavors. The regular organization of career fairs and information sessions featuring experts greatly aided me in my career planning efforts. At the same time, I witnessed how European education supported my knowledge up to now.
Additionally, this program allowed me to learn about the rich and ancient culture of Italy. At the same time, I endeavored to engage with both local and international students, fostering numerous friendships and embracing diverse cultural perspectives throughout my time in Italy. I devoted as much time as I could to exploring the historical sites here. Discovering the ancient traditions of Italy brought me immense joy, allowing me to deeply connect with its history.
I am confident that this program has further supported my plans for the future.
