On January 18, 2024, a memorial event took place at Khazar University's Neftchilar campus, organized by the Department of History and Archeology to observe the National Day of Mourning for January 20. The ceremony began by honoring the martyrs of January 20 and all those who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's independence, marked with a moment of silence. Subsequently, a video detailing the events of Bloody January 20 was presented.

Assoc. Prof. Telman Nusratoghlu Guliyev, the head of the History and Archeology Department, and Alovsat Amirbeyli, the director of Public Relations and Media, delivered speeches, reflecting on the tragic events that unfolded on that fateful night. Employees and students of Khazar University also shared their thoughts and perspectives on the matter.
