On December 24, 2023, Khazar University's International Students Club and International Relations Office orchestrated a Shamakhi excursion for both international and local students. Fatima Valiyeva, the director of the International Relations Office, along with coordinators Arzu Badalova and Turan Alizade, joined the President of the International Students Club, Alisa Nasirzada, Vice-President Abdullah Aduagba Yahaya, and Events Coordinator Jala Zeynalzade in leading the expedition.

During the journey, students initially acquainted themselves with the Museum of History-Ethnography and its exhibits. Subsequently, guided tours were arranged to explore the Juma Mosque, Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum, and the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, named after Nasreddin Tusi. The primary goal was to promote the nation's rich cultural heritage and foster greater integration between foreign and local students.
