On October 28-November 3, 2023, with the financial support of the ERASMUS+ PICASP project ( Pilot courses in Practice Enterprise to implement the University-Enterprise Cooperation for the development of Caspian Area ), educational training sessions were conducted by the public Association for the study of Cultural Heritage "MIRAS" and the Union of Turkish Associations of Belgium. These sessions covered sports, healthy living, motivation, and included tours to familiarize young participants from Belgium and Azerbaijan with the respective countries.
Notably, students from Khazar University's School of Economics and Management, namely Shahin Aliyev, Farid Babayev, Ziya Alizadeh, Jalal Yagub, and Chingiz Aghayev, actively engaged in this training.
On October 29, young people representing both countries celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and performed the national anthem together. The festive atmosphere persisted throughout the day, with Fariz Khalilli, Ph.D. in history and chairman of the "MIRAS" Public Union for the Study of Cultural Heritage, inaugurating the event and outlining the day's agenda. During his address, Rufat Jan, chairman of the Union of Turkish Associations of Belgium, expressed optimism that these training sessions would shed light on the future paths of the youth.
As part of the project, on October 30, the young individuals explored the "Yurd of Tarakama" in the village of Gageli, Agsu district, and the medieval archeological excavation in the city of Agsu, and observed the national game "Chilingagac". On October 31, they listened to the comprehensive presentation of Khayyam Orujov, an instructor of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports, about "National Sports Games" in Ganja and visted Ganja's must-see places. On November 1, they visited the enchanting Goygol National Park, a beautiful pearl of our nature and the German houses within.
The one-week program concluded with the participants receiving Youthpass certificates.
