In 2023, on November 13-16, an International Inter-University basketball tournament was held in Lefkosia, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the TRNC. Khazar University basketball team represented Azerbaijan at the international tournament.

On November 13, prior to their departure, the director of Public Relations and Media of the University, Alovsat Amirbeyli, met with the members of the team. The head coach of the team Anar Hajiyev informed about the preparation.

The team took part in the tournament and returned home.
