Opening the first meeting of the Academic Council in the new academic year, the rector of the University, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, informed the council members about the issues on the agenda. As the first issue on the agenda, the chairman of the meeting introduced the members of the

Scientific Council to the new composition of the Scientific Council of Khazar University. The news about the graduates, which is the second issue of the agenda, was presented by the dean of the School of Science and Engineering, Fakhranda Afandiyeva, the employee of the School of Economics and Management, Khanim Omaroghly, the dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Elza Samadova, and the dean of the Graduate School of Economics and Business, Ingilab Ahmadov.

Regarding the third issue, the deans of the schools gave information about admission to Khazar University and noted that an increase was observed. As the fourth issue of the agenda, the dean Inqilab Ahmadov gave information about thesis topics and academic supervisors of master's students.

Rector Associate Professor Irada Khalilova informed about the fifth issue on the agenda, the PhD program admission plan for the next year.

The information of the deans of the respective schools was heard about the approval and change of the dissertation topics and scientific supervisors of doctoral students and dissertation students (sixth issue).

As the seventh issue of the agenda, the information on the presentation of the monograph “Azerbaijani-Russian Literary Relations (Sergei Yesenin and Azerbaijan)” by Isakhan Isakhanli, vice-rector for Administration and Student Affairs of Khazar University, professor of the Department of Languages and Literature, doctor of philology, was presented by the scientific secretary of the council Gunel Bahaddinova.

The next - eighth issue of the Scientific Council was the application of PhD in history Telman Nusratoghlu Guliyev, the head of the History and Archeology Department, to the Scientific Council of the university regarding the petition before the High Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the title of associate professor. As for the current issues, the rector Asoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova gave information about the action plan of the Scientific Council for the academic year 2023-2024.

The departments were instructed to conduct their scientific researches more actively and to prepare annual scientific reports based on the request of the Ministry of Science and Education. Positive decisions were made regarding the issues on the agenda of the scientific council.
