On May 30, 2023, a seminar entitled “Hot Topics in Engineering Sciences” was held at the Department of Physics and Electronics by Prof.Dr. Erol Kurt, who was invited from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Faculty of Technology of Gazi University in Türkiye. At the seminar, Erol Kurt gave information about current innovations in engineering sciences. The seminar was held in the form of a discussion.

In 2004, Erol Kurt defended his dissertation on "Instabilities of Rotating Magnetic Fluids", received a Ph.D. degree and worked for 3 years in the R&D Department of the Turkish Atomic Energy Organization.

He is the founder, chairman of series of conferences like European Conference on Renewable Energy Systems (ECRES), Interdisciplinary Conference on Mechanics, Computers and Electricity (ICMECE) and guest editor of some prestigious journals. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Energy Systems (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/jes), a member of the Turkish Science Research Foundation (TUBAV).
