On April 17-21, 2023, Khazar University staff visited Warsaw University in Poland within the framework of ERASMUS+ PICASP project and participated in "Cultural Heritage in Educational and Business Strategies" workshop.
Khazar University was represented by Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, dean of School of Economics and Management, Dr. Mahammad Eldarov, vice-dean of Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology, Dr. Bahadir Baysal, coordinator of Department of Economics and Management, Mrs. Salima Ahmadova, project manager at Development Office, Dr. Bayram Guliyev and Mrs. Kamala Mustafayeva, instructors at Department of History and Archaeology, Mrs. Sabina Allahveranova, manager of Career Center.
The main objectives of the PICASP project (Pilot courses in Practice Enterprise to implement the University-Enterprise Cooperation for the development of Caspian Area) are to develop new teaching methodologies with Practice Enterprise, to develop courses in Entrepreneurship and SME Management, to enhance the exchange of best practices with EU partners, and to enforce stakeholders' involvement in curriculum development and the placement of graduates.
The workshop was dedicated to discussion of practices and challenges in cultural heritage: methods of researching and documenting of archaeological heritage; the fight against illicit trafficking and protection of cultural heritage; rebuilding Warsaw after WW II; history of the University of Warsaw Museum; problems and solutions for heritage management and tourism in Bulgaria and Romania; commercial archaeology in Poland; main problems and development prospects; and adult education in the field of cultural heritage. Furthermore, Khazar University staff participated in field activities on the post-war reconstruction of the historical substance of Warsaw and the adaptation of old post-industrial and socialist buildings for cultural and business purpose.
The management meeting was attended by Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov and Mrs. Salima Ahmadova. Dr. Mammadov made a presentation on the implementation of project activities and realization of objectives at Khazar University. Meanwhile, Mrs. Ahmadova provided detailed information on project management issues. The meeting ended with discussion of current results, needs, expectations, and future plans.
