Khazar University Psychology Department and Khazar Psychological Service Center organized the 7th Azerbaijan International Psychology Conference on April 21-22, 2023 at Khazar University. The opening of the conference began with the dance ensemble of Khazar University. Then the video material prepared by Khazar Multimedia Center reflecting the conferences of previous years was demonstrated to the participants.
Melek Karimova, coordinator of the Department of Psychology at Khazar university, mentioned that the Department and Khazar Psychological Service Center are actively involved in such seminars, trainings and conferences, and gave the floor to professor, academician Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees to make the opening speech. He wished success to the work of the conference, which has become a tradition, and emphasized that it is a good and positive fact that psychology is in development as a branch of science. Rector of the University associate professor Irada Khalilova noted the importance of such conferences and wished the conference fruitful work.
Malak Karimova, coordinator of the Psychology Department, gave information about the key speakers and others invited to the conference from Türkiye. She noted that, the founder of the Istanbul psychodrama Institute, psychodramatist Deniz Altinay and the employee of the Institute, psychodramatist Esra Bilik, the dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal prof. Hamit Coskun, the head of the Institute of Behavioral Sciences Dr. Emre Konuk, as well as the doctoral student of Cagliari University in Italy Ulker Isayeva, Dr. Elnur Gajiyev, who came to Khazar University from the American University of Hawaii as a Fulbright lecturer, and Dr. Omar Akgul, an employee of the Institute of Health Sciences, were invited to the conference.
Dr. Elnur Gajiyev gave a training to the participants on “The therapeutic power of art. Rules for the application of art therapy and its role in personal development” at the conference. Ulker Isayeva brought the latest innovations to the participants on "Is recovery possible in schizophrenia? Overview of new scientific approaches in the treatment of schizophrenia".
Most of the second day of the conference was covered by practical tasks. Psychodramatist Deniz Altınay conducted practical training with the participants on "Psychodrama-based group psychotherapy". Various topics such as "Psychology of creativity and brainstorming: the importance of modern approaches and strategies in personal development", "What does life expect from you? The basics of logotherapy and its application in practice", "Neuro-psychodrama: what happens in our brains during a psychodrama session?" were brought to discussion by prof. Hamit Coskun, Dr. Omar Akgul, Esra Bilik accordingly, as well as their rules of application were commented upon.
Issues of future cooperation were discussed at the conference, gifts and certificates were presented to the participants.
