You graduated from high school with a gold medal in 1965, were admitted to the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Baku State University (now BSU), and graduated with honors in 1970. In 1970-1973, you were sent by the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences to study at the graduate school of the Mechanics-Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. In 1973, you defended your thesis and received the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences.
In 1973-1983, you worked at the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the Mathematical Institute named after V.I. Steklov of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, Baku State University, engaged in scientific research and pedagogical work. Then you worked as a professor and department head at the Baku branch of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics.
Your research works have been published in prestigious scientific journals and anthologies of countries such as the former USSR, USA, Great Britain, Canada and Germany. In 1983, you defended your thesis on "Some problems of multi-parameter spectral theory" at the V.I. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow and received the degree of Doctor of Physics-Mathematical Sciences; a little later, you were considered worthy of the title of professor.
In 1991, you initiated the establishment of an English-language university in Azerbaijan, founded this university, which received official status in 1991, and started working as the founding rector of the first private university in Azerbaijan. A little later, this center of science, education and culture, which received a new name - Khazar University, has become one of the world-renowned universities of Azerbaijan.
You are considered one of the founders of modern multiparameter spectral theory. Your name has gone down in the history of science as the first Soviet mathematician who conducted in-depth research in this very important field of mathematics, which originates from mathematical physics.
You are known in Azerbaijan and abroad not only as a scientist and organizer of science and education, but also as a poet and writer. You have written poems since your youth, but you have not published them for a long time. Your poetry books have been published in Azerbaijan, Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, Georgia, Pakistan, Finland and other countries. Your poems have been translated into Russian, English, Chinese, Georgian, Estonian, Finnish, Turkish and other languages.
Your creativity also includes translation work. You have translated the poems of Russian, English and French poets such as V.A.Zhukovsky, F.Baratinsky, F.I.Tutchev, A.Fet, S.Yesenin, N.Gumilyov, A.Akhmatova, A.Akhundova, C.G.Byron, W.Blake, R.Herrick and G. De Nerval, from the original into Azerbaijani.
A lot of music has been composed for your poems.
You are the author of the books "Contrasts”, "This is a life as well", "Quadrels", "Pilgrimage", "Feelings that turn into poetry" (Tabriz), "Contrasts” (Tabriz), "This is a life as well (Tabriz), "Sitotkhlis Poetry" (in Georgian), "Intellect" (Tbilisi), "Contrasts” and "This is a life as well" ( in Chinese)," "Compilation & Translation Press" (Beijing) which were welcomed by the literary community with interest.
Your literary and scientific achievements have earned you the "Yusif Mammadaliyev", "Gızıl Qalam", "Samad Vurgun", "Zahid Khalilov", "Jafar Jabbarli" awards, the "Service to National Turkishness" award, and the TURKSOY medal.
