The head of the "Economic Analysis Institute", economist expert Mammad Talibli, who was invited to the first event of the club as a guest lecturer, gave a speech on "Economist image". Mammad Talibli tried to describe the image of an ideal economist by talking about the importance of the economist profession in modern times, the responsibility of being an economist, the main professional characteristics of an economist, the knowledge and skills necessary to become an economist.
Also, the expert economist, referring to the opinions of prominent economists, noted that in order to become a professional economist, along with a narrow specialization in a particular area of economic science, an economist needs a complex combination of philosophical, sociological, political, psychological, historical and mathematical knowledge to understand the deep layers of economic processes, it is also very important to be able to combine them. At the interactive meeting, different views of different social groups on the profession of economist were discussed. Students who are members of the club also expressed their views on the topic, and also asked questions to the expert.
Note that the "Economist" Student Development Club is planning to hold events in various formats (master class, training, debate, book discussion, dispute, competition) every month.
