On December 16, 2022, presentation of the project "Happy animals for sustainable production and consumption - HAnimSPAC " related to animal welfare was carried out at the event dedicated to the Erasmus+ Information Day, jointly organized by Khazar University and the National Erasmus+ Office. About 80 participants from various universities and organizations of the country, regional universities of Azerbaijan and ABAY University of Kazakhstan joined the event online.
Javid Ojagi, associate professor of the University's Life Sciences Department, gave detailed information to the participants about the purpose and partners of the project. This project was funded by the Social Innovation (SI) program for “Academic collaboration in the Baltic Sea region”. The project manager is the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), and the partner countries are Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. The goal of the project is to strengthen the exchange of experience at the macro-regional level, the joint development of practices, methodology and internationalization potential within the framework of higher education and scientific research.
Within the framework of the project, surveys were conducted among farmers and consumers regarding the welfare of animals in different regions of Azerbaijan.
At present, the statistical analysis of the data obtained from the surveys conducted among Ukrainian and Azerbaijani farmers and consumers participating in the project and the writing of articles are in progress.
The presentation about the project was listened to by the event participants with great interest and extensive discussions were held.
