On December 1, 2022, the School of Economics and Management organized a dissemination workshop within the framework of the “Intercultural Encounters in Academia and Workplaces in South Caucasus and Norway” (CPEA-LT-2017/10016, 2018-2021)
The purpose of the event was to disseminate the results of the project and at the same time to discuss the prospects of future cooperation between Khazar University and Oslo Metropolitan University.
Initially, the delegation from Oslo Metropolitan University, Prof. Arnfinn Muruvik Vonen, senior advisor Mr. Mikhail Kharakoz, researcher Dr. Jørn Holm-Hansen, and senior advisor Ms. Kristin Bugge were received by Dr. Irada Khalilova, Rector of Khazar University. Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Mr. Vlad Vernygora, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of School of Economics and Management, and Ms. Lyudmila Sotova, Head of Quality Assurance Center also attended the meeting.
After the meeting with Khazar University administration, the guests participated in the project dissemination event moderated by Dr. Maral Jamalova, Coordinator of Economics and Management Department. Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, delivered a welcome speech and introduced the delegation of Olso Metropolitan University to the participants. Together with the representatives of Oslo Metropolitan University, the teaching staff of Khazar University and master's students, who participated in summer schools organized at Oslo Metropolitan University in 2019 and 2022, made presentations on different perspectives of intercultural communication.
Broad information on the project and its results was provided by Prof. Arnfinn Muruvik Vonen, followed by the presentations of Mr. Mikhail Kharakoz on “Student responses to project activities” and Dr. Jørn Holm-Hansen on “The evaluation of the project results”. The first part of the event was concluded with the speech of Ms. Kristin Bugge on “Building sustainable academic partnerships”.
The second part of the event continued with presentations of alumnus Mr. Asiman Gojayev and master students Mr. Rahil Dadashli, Ms. Nigar Abdullayeva, Mr. Zaur Mammadli, and Mr. Seymur Bayramli. The presentations addressed the issues on “The role of intercultural factors on youth affairs”, “Barriers to intercultural communication”, “Intercultural interaction in diplomatic environment”, “6-D model of national culture”, and “Intercultural communication in global business”. The second part of the event was concluded with the speech of Dr. Maral Jamalova on “Looking at intercultural communication through World Value Survey”.
Dr. Jeyhun Mammadov expressed his appreciation to the speakers and deepest gratitude to all who attended the workshop and helped to make it such a successful event with their valuable contributions.
