On April 26, 2018, Valida Karimova (PhD student), Vice-dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, delivered a report on “The essence of N. Chomsky's linguistic research” in National Scientific and Practical Conference, held at Baku Slavic University, dedicated to 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. Valida Karimova gave detailed information on her research topic ("The concept of lower and upper layers of the sentence in N.Comsky's syntactic study"), its essence, N.Comsky's role in Azerbaijani linguistics, and N.Comsky's views on linguistics. In the conference, Sabrina Ramazanova, Khazar University student, also delivered a report on “Depression and suicide”. Within the report, she talked about a relation between depression and suicide, main reasons for suicide, and methods for avoiding suicide.

At the end of the conference, participants were presented with certificates and proceedings of conference materials.
