An instructor of Khazar University published a research article

An article “People archetype and creativity problem in contemporary Azerbaijan poetry” by Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, an instructor of the Department of the Azerbaijan language and literature, was published in the last issue of “Khabarlar (Humanities)” journal (№2) of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, 2017.

The article represents people as the source of national lyric. The author stresses that a poet without national values cannot be a citizen of a country. Also, the author mentions that the source and origin of lyrics by M.Araz, S.Tahir, A.Azer and M.Ismayil have not been researched yet in the context of archetype and folklore, consequently this problem needs to be solved scientifically. This article can be considered an initial step in the above-mentioned issue. The author regards the best samples of national lyric as the subject of the article; bayati, garayli, goshma and other poetic forms of poetry are mentioned as examples, and typical features of these poetic forms for tales and epics are briefly viewed. Moreover, the author notices that respect for totems and appeal to national heroes manifest themselves as chief qualities of lyrics by M.Araz, S.Tahir, A.Azer and M.Ismayil.
