On July 17-18, 2017 kick off meeting of the ERASMUS + project on Promoting Excellence in Teaching and Learning now coordinated by Polytechnic University of Valencia was held at Khazar University.
Representatives of all local and European partners of the project participated in the kick of meeting. The meeting’s official part was opened with the speeches given Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, Founder and Chairman of Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University, Dr. Sulhaddin Gozalov, Head of Student Support and Exchange Programs Unit Department of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, Dr. Javier Orozco, project manager from UPV and Mr. Parviz Bagirov, Head of the National ERASMUS + office.
During the two-day meeting, detailed plan of activities, financial issues, roles and responsibilities of each partner, study visits, potential risks and the plans to overcome them have been discussed. The group developed the 6-month plan and the first-year study visits of the project. Khazar University, as a lead partner in the project, will present the first study of the establishment of a Teaching and Learning system at each Azerbaijani partner institutions. The report on the first deliverable promised to be presented by the end of September 2017.
The project involves 14 partners from Azerbaijan and Europe with the aim to promote teaching and learning excellence in Azerbaijan. Specific objectives are (1) Building Capacity for Developing Teaching and Learning Process to meet pedagogical and technological needs and (2) Improving and Providing Quality Teaching and Learning through innovative technology, promoting research, improving active learning, and establishing long-term partnerships with European universities.
The three-year project is designed and developed with close participation of 9 partners from Azerbaijan and 5 partners from Europe and it has been granted 908.623,00 Euros.
The project’s direct beneficiaries are PhD students, researchers and other members of academic staff.
