On June 14, 2017, Rima Mammadova, the project coordinator of Khazar University attended the conference on "National consultations on the protection of migrants in the context of Crisis"  organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Parviz Musayev, Deputy Head of the State Migration, Chiara Milano, the Migrants in Countries in Crisis Secretariat (MICIC) and Serhan Aktoprak, Chief of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) delivered speeches in the conference. The information about migrants’ initiative regarding Global Compact and Countries in Crisis and opinions related to the topic were discussed during the meeting. Rima Mammadova mentioned the importance of getting a  higher education for migrants and stated the necessity of paying more attention to this area. The conference ended with further dicussions and proposals.
