On May 3-9, 2016, Melek Karimova (PhD student), Vice Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Valida Karimova (PhD student), Research Assistant for the School, participated in the 6th International “Psychological Counselling and Guidance: Working through our life goals” Conference held in Samsun with the invitation of the Samsun City National Education Administration and the Samsun Canik District Municipality. Along with local participants, the conference included over 500 participants from various countries.
Melek Karimova presented a paper on “Education in Azerbaijan: Psychological Counselling and Guidance in Azerbaijan.” She also led a workshop on “Children with Disabilities and Psychological Services to their Families.” The presentations were based on information from the “Establishment of a Foundation for the Integration of Disabled People into HEIs of Azerbaijan” (ESFIDIP) TEMPUS project. She also became a member of a scientific organization for foreign countries at the conference.
Valida Karimova was also invited by the Samsun Canik District Municipality to participate under the “Working through our life goals” theme. She successfully made presentations and took part in many workshops.
At the end of the conference, participants were given certificates.
