On June 9th, a solo concert of the student dance ensemble was held in the Concert Hall on Khazar University’s Downtown Campus in honor of the university’s 25th anniversary. The concert was organized by the Department of Music and Fine Arts. The audience included university administrators, faculty and staff, students, and parents. People’s Artists Roza Jalilova and Jamila Bayramova as well as Meritorious Artist Khanlar Bashirov also attended. Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic’s Song and Dance Ensemble came to congratulate Khazar University.
Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts, opened the event. Then “Gazaghi” was performed by Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic’s Song and Dance Ensemble (Artistic Director- People’s Artist Professor Aghaverdi Pashayev, Choreographer – People’s Artist Jamila Bayramova, soloist – Khazar University instructor Telman Aliyev).
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, made a speech in which he spoke about the university’s achievements in music and the arts alongside education in the past years. He also especially noted the contributions of People’s Artist Jamila Bayramova and Meritorious Artist Khanlar Bashirov.
A slideshow and video of the university dance ensemble’s activities were shown. People’s Artist Jamila Bayramova and Meritorious Artist Khanlar Bashirov performed “Naz eleme,” and university alumna Zarina Tahmazova performed “Gavalla Dance.”
Then the student dance ensembles led by instructors Sabina Ismailova and Meritorious Artist Telman Aliyev performed a concert. Students performed Azerbaijan national dances and modern dances.
People’s Artist Roza Jalilova made a speech to close the event, congratulating the university on its 25th anniversary. Then performers were introduced and given flowers.
