The East-West Teaching University (Tbilisi, Georgia) was founded recently on the joint decision of the founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli and former vice-rector of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Prof. Teimuraz Khurodze. This decision was supported by a well-known businessman in Georgia, Ph.D. Zaza Nishnianidze.
As one of the founders of the university is the main shareholder of multi-profile and specialized clinics located in Tbilisi, it was found reasonable to implement the Medical Doctor education program first. It is well-known how much the existence of clinics inside the university structure means for the university to upbringing highly qualified medical specialists. The overall efforts made it possible to establish a university, which will be one of the most outstanding institutions in the region, with its material base, academic personnel with adequate competence, and educational programs with modern standards.
This university is a good example of South Caucasus regional cooperation in education. Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, who is also a member of the Georgian National Academy of Science, with Georgian scientists are the founders of East-West Teaching University.
The university aims for further development of the educational environment in the light of modern international standards, which will respond to modern challenges with high quality educational programs.
