On April 18, 2024, second-year students of the School of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences of Khazar University majoring in History Education arranged an educational excursion to  “Icherisheher fortress walls”, “Quadrangular constellation”, “Maiden Tower” and “Defense walls of Shirvanshahs Palace”, coordinated by Orkhan Zamanov as all pertaining to the theme of "Defense buildings of Azerbaijan" within the context of the "History of Wars" subject. The special academic excursion, organized to ensure visualization in teaching, is important in terms of studying the important role of the defense fortifications of the Old City, which is an important component of the defense architecture of Azerbaijan, in the military art and history of our nation.

During the educational excursion, both the subject teacher and the students received detailed information about the history and functionality of these fortresses, their multi-purpose use and their role in the history of our motherland, and held a wide discussion about other Azerbaijani fortresses. The students showed keen interest in visually exploring these monuments.
