On April 18, 2016, the 66th meeting of the Assembly of Science and Art was held on the downtown campus of Khazar University. Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli, Founder of the University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, opened the meeting and introduced the guest lecturer, Professor Istvan Zimonyi (Szeged University, Hungary).
Then Professor Zimonyi spoke about “Nomads in Europe: Magyars and Turks in shaping the early medieval European history” in English, and Dr. Farda Asadov translated his speech for the audience. The lecture was followed by a discussion in which the following scholars participated: Hamlet Isaxanli (Khazar University), Gullu Yologlu (Ethnography Institute of ANAS), Faiq Alakbarov (Institute of Philosophy and Law, ANAS), Ismikhan Osmanli (Ethnography Institute of ANAS), Shahin Mustafayev (Orientalism Institute of ANAS), Sabina Nemanzada (Manuscripts Institute of ANAS), Asif Bayramov (Orientalism Institute of ANAS), Shahin Fazil (History Institute of ANAS), Sevda Suleymanova (Orientalism Institute of ANAS), and Farhad Guliyev (Archeology Institute of ANAS).
At the end of the event, the guest speaker presented many of his books to the Khazar University library. Prof. Isaxanli thanked him on behalf of himself as well as the well-known scholars of Azerbaijan.
