Professor Samantha Curle of the English Language and Literature Department at Khazar University has co-authored an article titled “Justice and L2 Motivational Network: An EBICglasso Based Analysis of English Language Learners’ Motivation, Goal Orientation, Mindset, and Justice in the Classroom” in the internationally recognized journal Acta Psychologica published by Elsevier (Vol. 267, 2026).
The study examines the relationship between second language (L2) motivation and classroom justice among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners using a network psychometric approach. Based on data collected from 434 Turkish undergraduate students, the research explores how motivational factors, mindsets, anxiety, and perceptions of fairness interact within the language learning process.
The research contributes to current studies in second language acquisition by emphasizing the importance of fair and supportive classroom environments in promoting learner engagement and motivation.
