Khazar University has embarked on a significant collaboration aimed at strengthening the training of professionals in the field of veterinary medicine. On April 28, 2026, Khazar University Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva and Sardar Hajiyev, Chairman of the Agrarian Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation. The primary objective of the Memorandum is to enrich students' theoretical knowledge with practical skills, as well as to advance research activities. Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate on organizing various training programs for field veterinarians, specialists, and students, implementing international best practices, and ensuring that students undertake internships within the relevant structures of the Agency. Engaging distinguished students in scientific projects and supporting their professional development are also among the priorities. Additionally, the parties will expand cooperation in the areas of disease management, clinical-practical and research work, the implementation of joint projects, and the organization of academic events.
The Memorandum also encompasses the organization of mutual visits, the joint use of existing material and technical resources, the provision of scientific and practical services, as well as the implementation of new initiatives and projects. To ensure the effective execution of the collaboration, a Working Group composed of representatives from both institutions will be established; this group will coordinate projects and facilitate the mutual exchange of information.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Khazar University founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, was attended by Khazar University Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Muhammad Nuriyev, Faculty Deans Dr. Chichak Aliyeva, Dr. Fakhrandah Afandiyeva, Dr. Ingilab Ahmadov, and Dr. Milana Abbasova, Department Head Dr. Sabina Mammadova, and Mehmet Koçak, Director of Hasvet Baku International Animal Hospital. During the meeting, the parties delivered their respective presentations, and a wide-ranging discussion was held on contemporary challenges in veterinary medicine and the prospects for developing the partnership. In addition, participants were familiarized with the activities of the university's Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, a meeting was held with students, and an exchange of views took place.
