A delegation of Khazar University, comprising Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Ulkar Isaeva, undertook a business visit to the People's Republic of China from March 2–5, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to expand opportunities for academic cooperation with leading Chinese universities and research centers, and to develop partnerships on joint research projects.
During the trip, the delegation held a series of meetings at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai International Studies University, and Fudan University. The meetings focused on discussions regarding the development of strategic partnerships between the universities, joint academic programs, and opportunities for collaboration in the fields of research and innovation. The delegation also visited the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the Institute for Artificial General Intelligence at Jiao Tong University, as well as Fudan University's Fudan Zhangjiang Research Institute, the Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-Inspired Intelligence, and the Department of Materials Science.
The delegation visited Fudan University's Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and familiarized itself with the operations of the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Integrated Circuit and Biomedical Park. Meetings were also held at the Zhangjiang International Brain Imaging Centre and the Center for Global AI Innovative Governance. Round table discussions addressed matters of joint research and academic cooperation in the fields of neuroscience and artificial intelligence, with an agreement on collaboration being reached.
As part of the visit, the delegation also met with the School of Medicine at Jiao Tong University, gaining insight into the school's activities, research capabilities, and laboratory facilities. The meeting covered potential areas of cooperation, including student exchange programs, joint research projects, and scholarship initiatives.
The visit to China is of significant importance in terms of expanding the international cooperation strategy and strengthening academic ties with leading universities across Asia.
