The Department of English Language and Literature organized a Two-Day Workshop for English Language Teachers on February 10–11, led by Nancy Ackles, Fulbright Scholar and Adjunct Professor at Taylor University.
The first session, held on February 10, focused on “Using Question Stems to Promote Analytic, Creative and Scientific Thinking.” During this session, participants explored practical strategies for designing effective questions that encourage higher-order thinking skills and active classroom engagement.
The second session, conducted on February 11, was devoted to “Using Rubrics in Assessment to Promote Clarity and Increase Learning.” Attendees learned how to develop and apply clear assessment rubrics to improve transparency, support student progress, and enhance overall learning outcomes.
Teachers showed great interest in the workshop topics and actively participated in discussions, sharing their experiences and classroom practices.
