A "National Space Hackathon" was held on December 6-7, jointly organized by Azercosmos, Israel Aerospace Industries, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, and Sabah.hub.
In the first stage of the competition, 150 teams participated. The team of Vidadi Javadov, a third-year student (majoring in computer science) at Khazar University's School of Science and Engineering, secured a place among the 15 finalists and earned the right to participate in the final stage.
Within the framework of the 48-hour hackathon, teams prepared and presented their projects. The evaluation was based on the idea, team skills, and the level of project development.
As a result, the top 10 teams were admitted to a 7-week incubation program. Vidadi Javadov's team successfully passed all stages and was admitted without competition to the "Vistar" Acceleration Program of Israel Aerospace Industries.
The presented project: "SatWater" - envisages the establishment of an automatic and precise irrigation system for large agricultural areas based on soil moisture and other indicators using data obtained from satellites.
The next stage: Along with the 7-week incubation program, the project will be further developed with the support of Khazar University's Innovation Center and will ultimately be presented to potential investors.
We wish Vidadi Javadov and his teammates Mirmammad Mansimov (State Customs Academy) and Saida Dashdamirova (National Aviation Academy) success in the upcoming stages.
