From November 12 to 16, 2025, a multidisciplinary spatial planning training titled "Art and City: MFUA Campus Planning" was conducted at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University (MFUA) within the framework of the "Horizon Planning Urban Forest Life Workshop" project.
At the opening ceremony on November 12, MFUA Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer Kurtaslan, founder of "Horizon Planning" company Dr. Nejla Kılınç, Prof. Dr. Güzin Ayrancıoğlu, Head of the SABAH Groups Executive Committee Assoc. Prof. Elza Samadova, and Head of the Culture Center of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye Samir Abbasov delivered speeches, emphasizing the importance of the project.
The five-day training program aimed to create interconnections between urban planning, architecture, and art, as well as to foster a creative collaboration environment for young professionals. A total of 40 students representing Middle East Technical University (METU), Istanbul University, Ankara University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Karabük University, Gazi University, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Azerbaijan Academy of Arts, and Khazar University participated in the program. They engaged in theoretical and practical sessions on urban planning, campus design, sustainable green spaces, sound and color analyses, urban aesthetics, and visual arts.
Gunay Mammadova, instructor at Khazar University's Department of Architecture and Design, as well as second-year Architecture students Jafar Aliyev, Nihat Mustafazade, and Mehin Gahramanzade also participated in the program.
The training sessions were conducted under the leadership of Dr. Nejla Kılınç and provided students with practical knowledge in the integration of urban planning, art, and nature. At the conclusion of the program, teams presented innovative planning and design projects for the development of the MFUA campus. At the closing ceremony, the works prepared by students were displayed in exhibition format, and certificates were presented to participants.
It should be noted that the first phase (May 30 - June 3, 2025) and second phase (October 27-31, 2025) of the "Sustainable City Project" were held at Khazar University.
