On October 13, 2025, Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of Khazar University's Psychology Department and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center, gave an interview to the "Tehsil365" news portal. He stated that the pandemic period had a negative impact on children's social and psychological development. According to him, disruptions in the education sector during the pandemic and online instruction caused emotional and social difficulties in children.
"Because children stayed at home for an extended period, they are experiencing difficulty readjusting to the school environment. Regression in social skills, problems in establishing friendships, and issues with self-expression are being observed," Mirsadiq Mukhtarov emphasized. The psychologist noted that these adaptation problems can lead to setbacks in education and lack of self-confidence.
Mirsadiq Mukhtarov also noted that psychological problems such as anxiety disorders, depression, and decreased motivation increased in children during the pandemic period. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between families and teachers, taking into account children's emotional needs, and obtaining psychological support when necessary.
