On October 2-3, 2025, the II International Turkish World Women's Congress was successfully held under the theme "Leading and Entrepreneurial Women of the Turkic World," hosted by Khazar University. The event was organized to promote scientific and cultural cooperation and social development. The Congress was attended by more than 60 delegates representing Ahiska Turks, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, East Turkestan, Gagauzia Autonomous Region, Iraqi Turkmens, Kazakhstan, Crimea, Kosovo, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Türkiye.
Prominent female scientists, writers, public activists, and representatives of NGOs and state institutions from various fields actively participated in the Congress. This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the entrepreneurial potential and leadership roles of women in the Turkic World from a scientific perspective.
The event was held on the initiative of the "Umay Ana Turkish World Women's Union" with the aim of forming a stronger future strategy for women in the Turkic World and strengthening interregional ties. The Congress was implemented with the support of prestigious institutions such as Khazar University, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, TIKA, YTB, TURKSOY, DATÜB, GIKAD, TURKKAB, Istanbul Gedik University, KAGIMER, and the Istanbul-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.
The Congress commenced with high-level opening speeches. Speakers at the event included Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan; Prof. Dr. Mualla Uydu Yücel, Chair of Umay Ana TDKB, TURKKAB, and the Congress Organizing Committee; Dr. Raziya Isayeva, Rector of Khazar University; Jale Ahmadova, President of the World Alpagut Federation and Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan; Fuad Uçar, Secretary General of DATÜB; Nevhis Lütfi Mustafa, Mayor of Dulovo, Bulgaria; Fidan Brina Jilta, Member of Parliament of Kosovo; Azerbaijani Members of Parliament Sevil Mikayilova and Sabina Salmanova; Dr. Tamam Jafarova, Chair of TURKPA; Marina Semyonova, Minister of Culture of Gagauzia; and Ufuk Turganer, Ambassador and Representative of TRNC in Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the two-day scientific program, a total of five sessions were organized:
The opening session titled "Azerbaijan in Historical Process" was chaired by Dr. Fakhranda Afandiyeva, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Khazar University. The session featured presentations on "Azerbaijan's statehood history," "The genocide of the century: Khojaly," "The impact of the Khojaly genocide on Azerbaijani women," "The results of the Second Karabakh War," and "Türkiye-Azerbaijan relations."
The session "Leading Women of the Turkic World in Literature and Press" was chaired by Prof. Dr. Irada Huseynova. Topics such as "Shafiga Gaspirali," "Azada Musayeva," "Zeyna Ganiyeva," "Süreyya Ağaoğlu," and "Pioneer women in Turkmen literature" were discussed.
The session "Leading Women of the Turkic World in Science and Academia" was chaired by Dr. Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences at Khazar University. Presentations were delivered on female scientific leaders from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and East Turkestan.
The session "Leading Women of the Turkic World in Public Life" was chaired by Prof. Dr. Meşkure Yılmaz. The session addressed topics such as "The role of women in preserving family unity," "The fates of women during the exile period," "Mujahid women," and "Motherhood motifs in Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's work."
The final session titled "Leading Women of the Turkic World in Management and Entrepreneurship" was chaired by Dr. Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the School of Science, Art and Technology Higher Education at Khazar University. Presentations covered topics including "Nezihe Muhiddin and the Women's People's Party," "Women's leadership in the era of artificial intelligence," "The success story of Naila Khanum Isayeva," "Women's entrepreneurship in Turkey," and "The role of women in business in Uzbekistan."
The Congress successfully concluded by examining the role of women in the Turkic World in historical, cultural, and social spheres on a scientific basis. During the event, the crucial roles women play in public life, science, and entrepreneurship were extensively discussed, and significant results were achieved toward forming a strong and influential Turkic woman model for future generations.
Participants unanimously emphasized that the strength, leadership, and initiative of Turkic women play an indispensable role in the development of the Turkic World, and it is essential to continue scientific and social efforts in this direction.
