The next meeting of Khazar University's Academic Council was held on July 4, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Professor Mahammad Nuriyev, Acting Rector of the university, who brought the agenda items to the attention of the Council members.
At the beginning of the meeting, organizational matters were discussed. It was announced that a number of new appointments had been made at Khazar University effective July 1, 2025. Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Milana Abbasova has been appointed as Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. At the same time, a new Faculty of Hasvet Veterinary Medicine has been established within the university structure, and Chichek Aliyeva has been appointed as Acting Dean. The Academic Council members congratulated both colleagues and wished them success in their future activities.
Subsequently, the discussion proceeded to other matters on the meeting agenda. Within the framework of the second agenda item, information was presented about the university's graduating undergraduate and graduate students. Information about students' academic performance, specializations and relevant statistical indicators was presented by Fakhranda Afandiyeva, Dean of the School of Science and Engineering; Raziya Isayeva, Dean of the School of Economics and Management; Milana Abbasova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Gunel Bahaddinova, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology; and Ingilab Ahmadov, Dean of the Graduate School of Economics and Business. The list of graduates was approved by the Academic Council members.
The third agenda item was dedicated to the approval of examination programs for the Doctor of Philosophy program. Academic Council Secretary Gunel Bahaddinova provided information on this matter. It was announced that examination programs for 10 specializations at the Doctor of Philosophy level have been prepared for 2025.
It was noted that internal and external expert reviews have been obtained for each program. The Academic Council members, having familiarized themselves with the programs, approved them with the appropriate decision.
At the end of the meeting, current issues were discussed – organization of graduation ceremonies, distribution of course loads for the 2025/2026 academic year, and other organizational matters.
