On May 29, 2025, an academic-educational seminar titled "Ancient Western and Eastern Civilizations: Relations, Influences and Perspectives" was organized at Khazar University's Nizami Campus through the joint organization of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, the Department of History and Archaeology, and the "Organization of Scientific Exposition" section of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, with support from Khazar University's Public Relations and Media Department.
The seminar featured presentations by Zaur Hasanov, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs and Doctor of Historical Sciences at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, and Dr. Rukhsara Guliyeva, lecturer at Khazar University's Department of History and Archaeology.
Under the moderation of Orkhan Zamanov, lecturer at the Department of History and Archaeology of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and acting head of the "Organization of Scientific Exposition" section at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, the specialists' presentations dedicated to issues related to ancient civilizations aimed to deliver scientific-academic innovations to Khazar University students and guests.
Zaur Hasanov's lecture titled "Scythians and Other Eastern Peoples in Classical Sources," presented directly from his research field, was listened to attentively and generated interest among participants. The topic was selected with the aim of having contemporary developments and scientific innovations in the study of ancient civilizations explained directly by researchers to students of history and history-geography teaching at the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences within the framework of the "Ancient World History 2" course.
Dr. Rukhsara Guliyeva's lecture titled "State Administration in the Roman Republic" was designed to instill in students, through specialist discourse, the roots, formation, establishment and evolution of statehood and administrative relations in Ancient Roman society. The discussed topic was directly related to teaching and held significant importance for the development of students' knowledge in the subject and their worldview regarding ancient civilizations.
The event concluded with the answering of numerous questions and engaging discussion.
