Department Head Addresses Armenian Genocide Fabrication

On January 27, 2025, speaking on ARB 24's "What's Happening" program, Associate Professor Dr. Telman Nusratoglu, Head of the History and Archaeology Department, noted that, as Pashinyan has been trying to acknowledge, the Armenian genocide fabrication was clearly part of the USSR's geopolitical campaign against Türkiye after World War II. He emphasized that it's impossible to understand the true nature of this issue without knowing the depth of KGB-Armenian diaspora connections.

The department head explained that during World War I, it was actually the Dashnak and Hunchak groups, armed under Russian protection and supported by France, Britain, and America's "divide and rule" policy against the Ottoman Empire, who carried out genocide against the Muslim population in eastern Anatolia. He stated that this is clearly documented in French and Russian archival records.
