On November 1, 2024, representatives of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (ACM) held an information session at Khazar University. During the session, registration was announced open for the new Wave V of training programs at the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (ACM), which was established jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (MDDT), Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), and Israel's Technion Institute of Technology.
Leyla Karimli, the community manager of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, provided detailed information about current cyber threats and their harmful effects both globally and in the country. She stated that the purpose of ACM training is to develop the highest level of knowledge and skills for cybersecurity professionals in the country. The Center's representative invited Khazar University students to join Wave V of the training program.
ACM staff members Nemat Rahimli, Orkhan Abdullayev, and Farzali Valiyev explained that the center's training programs are based on the curriculum of Israel's Technion Institute of Technology. Nemat Rahimli noted that the team of foreign trainers evaluates both the IT knowledge and interview skills of training applicants. As a result, candidates who succeed in both stages receive 6-month fully funded training in "Blue team" (defense) and "Red team" (attack) directions. Those who successfully complete the training receive an official certificate from the Technion Institute.
During the session, it was emphasized that the center has had around 180 graduates so far, who are currently working in both government institutions and the private sector.
At the end of the event, students' questions were answered.
