Namig Guliyev, a member of the "Scientific Research Center for Mathematics and Its Applications" at Khazar University, has been included in the list of the world's most influential researchers for 2024, prepared by Stanford University and Elsevier company. To compile this list, a composite c-score is calculated for each scientist based on citations in the Scopus scientific database, considering self-citations, number of co-authors, and other parameters. Those with the highest 2% in each science field are selected.
Namig Guliyev is one of two scientists from Azerbaijan to be included in this list in the field of mathematics this year. His main research area is the spectrum theory of differential operators. Namig Guliyev's article published in the "Journal of Mathematical Physics" in 2019 was selected as a "Featured Article" by the editorial board, considering one of the best articles. His article published in "The Quarterly Journal of Mathematics" by Oxford University in 2023 currently tops the list of the most prestigious articles published in that journal over the last two years. His scientific works have also been published in renowned journals such as "Annali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata", "Canadian Mathematical Bulletin", "Inverse Problems", and "Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society". His articles in the field of neural networks, co-authored with Vugar Ismailov, the director of the "Scientific Research Center for Mathematics and Its Applications", have been published in "Neural Computation", "Neural Networks", and "Neurocomputing", which are among the most prestigious journals in that field.
It should be noted that Namig Guliyev works as a leading researcher at the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
