On May 12, 2025, a panel titled "Chingiz Aitmatov, the Sage of the Steppe" was held at Baku Turkish Anatolian Lyceum as part of the "Anatolian School Writer Readings" program. The panel organizer, Meral Bahar, Turkish language and literature teacher at the lyceum, provided information about the "Anatolian School Writer Readings." Abdullah Yılmaz, the principal of Baku Turkish Anatolian Lyceum, emphasized that the panels and reading days organized by the Anatolian School unite the Turkic world around a rich cultural heritage, and wished success to the panel participants.
The panel was moderated by Ali İzzet Kavuk, and the panelists were students of the Baku Turkish Anatolian Lyceum. The lyceum students Zehra Aydın presented on "Father figure in Chingiz Aitmatov's works," Rahmet Satı Koyuncu on "War in Chingiz Aitmatov's works," Arzu Rustamzadeh on "Mythological elements in Chingiz Aitmatov's works," and Melike Betül Kadirhan on "A view into the inner world of humans through Aitmatov's perspective."
Ulvi Babasoy, instructor at Khazar University's Department of Languages and Literature, evaluated the presentations of the panelists. Ulvi Babasoy analyzed Aitmatov's prose in the context of the father phenomenon, war, mythology, and the aesthetics of introspection. Ulvi Babasoy was presented with a plaque from the Education Counsellorship of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan. At the conclusion, an exhibition of artwork created by the lyceum's students based on motifs from Chingiz Aitmatov's works was displayed.
