On September 8, 2024, Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, a staff member of the Psychology Department at Khazar University and psychologist at the Khazar Psychological Service Center, conducted a seminar on "Modern Approaches to Schizophrenia" with organization of the General Union to Youth for Support (GUYS) at the office of so-called union. The main purpose of organizing the seminar was to educate young people about schizophrenia and to raise awareness against stigma and discrimination towards those suffering from this illness in society.

During the seminar, young people were introduced to the concept of schizophrenia and its historical development. The epidemiology of the disease was examined, and risk factors were emphasized. Additionally, the clinical symptoms and diagnostic criteria of schizophrenia were noted, and the symptoms of the disease and its effects on cognitive dysfunctions were extensively discussed.

The trainer provided detailed answers to the participants' questions related to the topic.
